Rather than being a photo of an actual pendant made with a JW slogan on it, the slogan on the pendant in the opening post looks it's photoshopped to me. If you enlarge the photo you can see that the letters are transparent and the shine is only on the pendant underneath the letters rather than on the letters. It looks like they photoshopped the JW slogan onto a photo of a pendant. I'm not convinced that anyone is really selling such an item.

why no one could hang on a stake
by sowhatnow inhas any one ever pondered the artists rendering of jesus and the 2 'criminals' beside him?
wth upright bodies?
no blood,.

There was always the question of how Jesus hands didn't rip through from bearing the weight of his body, but how anyone, perfect or not, could stay conscious and then have a conversation after having a spike driven through his hands and the instep of his feet, is beyond me.

Wow...The line that struck me was her feelings once she decided to leave her church and to quit selling Mary Kay Cosmetics.
"It really cost me....I lost my identity....I lost my belonging....I lost the ability to ever be that certain or righteous about anything ever again"
I'm going to memorize that line and take it as my own because it describes exactly how it is for me now.

Do you remember the 15 minute break at the Sun. meeting?
by 3rdgen ina poster on another thread reminded me of when there was a 15 min.
break between the talk and the wt study on sundays.
the break was supposed to be to allow jw's time to drive their bible studys home from the talk.

I remember the 15 minute break after the public talk. At our Hall they said it was done so they could set up the microphones.
Then there was the urban ledgend where the Chairman got up after the talk and thanked the speaker for his very fine discourse and continued, saying that before the Watchtower study began, there would be a 15 minute intercourse while the microphones were being set up. LOL

This is a new concept to me. Can you explain how it works and what proof there is that it happens?

Do you believe that we are living in the last days, and why?
by new light init has been a long time.. thanks to jw.org, i was reading some jw material (what does the bible teach i believe).
it was the first time reading a "book study" book in many years and i was blown away by the controlling, cultish writing.
this question especially struck me as manipulative: do you believe that we are living in the last days, and why?.

In New York they have this similar set up only you can stand among the cartoon characters holding a bookbag and get your picture taken going out in service with Caleb. I notice more and more they are showing the brothers wearing only a shirt and tie without a sport coat. I wonder if they're trying to relax the dress code a little. It used to be oh so important not to do anything WT related without wearing at least a sport jacket and tie.

Would YOU Have Refused Blood To Remain Faithful To Your JW Beliefs?
by minimus ini believe that most witnesses would refuse blood to show their faithfulness to jehovah's law on blood transfusions....( that sounds silly, huh?).

I would have probably refused it for myself but when it came down to it, I would have caved if it meant life or death for one of my kids. I figured I'd take the fall for my child and that Jehovah would probably have mercy on a parent put in that position.
